I sat in the upper level, right above the judges and right below the press photographers.

As skinny as Pang's legs are, they looked considerably thicker than at the Olympics

The Reeds danced their way to 20th place, representing Japan. Had they stayed skating for the US, no one would know who they are. Not that anyone does, but even those people wouldn't. I'm not a big fan of changing countries in order to skate in the Olympics or at Worlds, especially when the skaters aren't that good. I did like her dress in the free dance, though. Their sister Allison skates for Israel now, coming in at 23rd in the original dance and not even making it to the free dance, and she previously danced for Georgia, so apparently the whole family just wants international attention regardless if they're world class or not.

I was very impressed by the choir, who sang the Russian, Canadian, US, and Korean national anthems at the respective medal ceremonies. I wonder how many anthems they had to rehearse. I've been to at least 10 of these international skating events and have never seen live musical performers for the anthems before. Funny thing, though; I sang the US anthem during the dance medal ceremony and realized about 2/3 of the way through that all of a sudden the choir was singing different words... they were singing in French! That's the first time I've ever heard non-English words sung to The Star-Spangled Banner. I don't think that any of the Russian or Korean words in their anthems were replaced by French; I guess it's just a rule that they have to give equal time to French if English is spoken -- or sung! -- at a public event.

I did not spot Jennifer Robinson, but this was across the street from the arena.

A family of fans coming into the arena before the pairs event. Anyone know what this says?
